- Do the pet details match across every quote or document?
- Have you read the definitions and exclusions sections?
- Do you know the deductible, reimbursement percentage, annual limit, and renewal terms?
- Are waiting periods clear for accident, illness, orthopedic, dental, and wellness benefits?
- Have you saved carrier responses and policy documents?
After you finish
Make a short note of the two or three details that would change your decision. For many pet owners those details are pre-existing condition language, dental coverage, exam fees, or direct vet pay.
If the answer is unclear, ask the carrier for written clarification before buying or filing.
